Essen RFID provides Software APIs for its Xtenna™ devices to developers who wish to build or integrate their own applications to the hardware. These *free license APIs are integrators that act as an interface between the Xtenna™ RFID hardware device and the front end application. The APIs are a set of routines, data structures, object classes and protocols provided by library (ActiveX/Java class files) system services in order to support the building of applications.
The Software APIs are development language dependent, and are available in VB and C (MS Windows) and Java (MS Windows/Linux), along with .NET convertability from VB ActiveX. Applications need to import or include the API/SDK for integrating with the Xtenna™ RFID device.
|
VB (ActiveX) component for the Xtenna™ RFID device is a simple “drag and drop” software feature tool. This VB ActiveX can also be used for .NET applications which support COM objects in the application development using Interops. This allows easy integration with several types of projects like .NET User Control and Win Form application. The Java API is an easily integratable SDK that can be used for the development of customized applications that support both MS Windows and Linux OS platforms, for desktop as well as web development. The C API is a generic API that can be used for application language development in C, C++, VB 6.0, .NET, etc.
Functionality supported by the API/SDK include detecting and configuring the Xtenna™ RFID device, booting Xtenna™, as well as RFID Tag functionality such as reading, writing, locking and killing tags. Typical usage can be made of these APIs in customer applications such as Parking Management, Asset Tracking, etc. |
