A tiny radio tag is affixed on each individual product item. Unlike barcodes, every RFID tag has a unique ID number that corresponds to each individual item unit of a product. Each tagged item is located with multiple Xtennas that are mounted at various locations all over the store. These Xtennas send and pick up signals from every tagged product item, transmitting them to a central database.
